This spectacular and highly technical piece conceals an ingenious complication.
Beneath its classic wristwatch appearance lies a mechanism conceived and developed by Laurent Ferrier: a device that pivots the dial’s two opaque crystals a full 240° like a fan opening to reveal a second hand-decorated dial.
Developed on the basis of the Tourbillon Double Balance Spring calibre, this complication opens and closes the dial by the fan-like rotation of two opaque sapphire crystals (FBN Calibre 916.02). A patent has been filed for this invention.

Display mechanism: dial operating with aperture of 240° patented double rotation to induce phase shift to open and close the aperture is composed of two modalities:
1. On demand, instantly, by simply pressing the push-button.
2. In passing, within owner defined time completed by the expert watchmaker during assembly. By the time the system starts switching over the display until its complete unfold (240°) it takes 60 minutes.
