    A regulator represented the watchmaker's earliest development, returning to the basic pieces which forged his abilities as a watchmaker. The idea with a regulator is to separate the hours and minutes for increased legibility and precision. Those timepieces were traditionally used by watchmakers to set their watches and by scientists for taking important measurements.
